Network Connection Requirements

Once you have obtained and activated your license, there are a few things to note about how DREAM3D-NX checks and validates 
the software/licenses.

- DREAM3D-NX will periodically validate your license by contacting various points on the SOLO server (https://secure.softwarekey.com/solo/webservices) where our licensing information is hosted.

- DREAM3D-NX will periodically check for available software version updates by contacting the web page https://www.dream3d.io/dream3dnx_version_dev.json. The frequency with which this check 
  is performed can be customized by the user. For more information about how to do this, please see the :ref:`Check for Updates <HelpMenuCheckForUpdates>` item in the Menu Bar section (3.12).
