12.4. Network Connection Requirements

Once you have obtained and activated your license, there are a few things to note about how DREAM3D-NX checks and validates the software/licenses.

• DREAM3D-NX will periodically validate your license by contacting various points on the SOLO server (https://secure.softwarekey.com/solo/webservices) where our licensing information is hosted.

• DREAM3D-NX will periodically check for available software version updates by contacting the web page https://www.dream3d.io/dream3dnx_version_dev.json. The frequency with which this check is performed can be customized by the user. For more information about how to do this, please see the Check for Updates item in the Menu Bar section (3.12).
