6. Workflow Parameters

In this section we will be introducing the concept of a Workflow.

A workflow allows you to dictate which parameters in a Pipeline are editable by hiding all other parameters leaving their values set to whatever the workflow creator has set. A workflow is similar to a Pipeline, but has only a select number of parameters available for editing. This can be useful when creating a Pipeline for use by others, because often times users may not want certain parameters to be edited. There are two different views for working with Workflows:

  • View for creating a Workflow: This is the base view of DREAM3D-NX with the addition of the Workflow Parameters feature which is used to determine which parameters will be exposed to the end user of the Workflow.

  • View for running from a Workflow file: In this case, the user will get a slightly altered view of DREAM3D-NX in which only the Workflow Parameters will be displayed for editing.
