5. Workflow Parameters

In this section we will be introducing the concept of a Workflow.

A workflow allows you to dictate which parameters in a Pipeline are editable by hiding all other parameters leaving their values set to whatever the workflow creator has set. A workflow is similar to a Pipeline, but has only a select number of parameters available for editing. This can be useful when creating a Pipeline for use by others, because often times users may not want certain parameters to be edited. There are two different views for working with Workflows:

  • View for creating a Workflow: This is the base view of DREAM.3D with the addition of the Workflow Parameters feature which is used to determine which parameters will be exposed to the end user of the Workflow.

  • View for running from a Workflow file: In this case, the user will get a slightly altered view of DREAM.3D in which only the Workflow Parameters will be displayed for editing.
